“…, “ Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?”….”” Judges 14:3 NKJV
Samson was attracted to a Philistine woman. He wanted his parents to bring the woman to him as his wife. And they said to him, “..is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren..?”
As Christians, we must remember that we should not be unequally yoked. We may yearn to be married and perceive that there is no suitable soul-mate within the household of God. But instead of using that as an excuse to seek someone outside of the kingdom of God, we ought to be praying for God to provide and trust that He will.
The tragedy of Samson should be a constant reminder that it is always better to be on the path of obedience.
