And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself, and they went into battle. 2 Chr 18:29
What kind of friend is this King Ahab? He put his friend Jehoshaphat in danger by letting him be dressed as a king so that all the enemies’ attacks could be centred on Jehoshaphat while he dressed like a normal soldier.
Thankfully, the LORD preserved Jehoshaphat and let a “random” arrow kill Ahab. We learn here the divine protection we have when God is on our side. We also learn the importance of having alliances who are Godly and have our well-being on their minds. Let us be wise.
