I visited Macau in July 2019. It was my first time in Macau and I really did not know what to expect. Famed as a city that survives on taxes from Casino Operators, Macau has many indeed has many themed resort hotels. I found the city to be a display of spectacular architecture.
This picture on the right shows the “City of Dreams” Hotel.
It’s a wonder how the constructed the hole in the centre of the building with links that look like the arterial valves of a heart.
This is just one of the many interesting-looking buildings in Macau.
The Venetian Hotel has a distinct Italian theme. It looks grand outside. It is even more spectacular inside. Check out this 1-minute video that shows you what it is like inside.
There’s an indoor Venice-themed shopping mall, complete with gondolas traversing a canal and “forever cloudy” indoor-sky.
Around the mall, various buskers perform their stunts to wow the crowds and provide a holiday-feeling atmosphere.
I did not go to Macau to gamble. But just visiting the different themed hotels was an interesting in and of itself. If you are planning to visit Macau, the Venetian is certainly an experience you won’t want to miss. Check out this one-minute video that summarises my experience at the Venetian. Hope you will like it.
