1-minute video – Qumran Caves – where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found….

Yesterday, I posted two 1-minute videos of Jerusalem – by day & night. These were meant to provide a quick summary of the place. Hope you had a chance to view them.

Today, I want to share a 1-minute video of Qumran Caves. Qumran is where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. It is located at the northern-western end of the Dead Sea, at the West Bank area.

Excavations at Qumran

In 1947, Bedouin Herders found clay jars at Qumran which contained thousands of parchment scrolls which were more than 1,800 years old. These included some of the oldest servicing copies of the Hebrew Bible.

These scrolls are now kept securely in the National Museum of Israel. Excavations continue at Qumran as more archaeological findings are discovered. Check out this 1-minute video. Hope you will like it and share.
