Continuing with my 1-minute video series on Israel, today you see a 1-minute video of the Garden Tomb.
The Gospels described the place where Jesus was crucified and laid as follows:
- “AND THE BROUGHT HIM TO THE PLACE GOLGOTHA, WHICH IS TRANSLATED, PLACE OF A SKULL”. MARK 15:22
- “..IN THE PLACE WHERE HE WAS CRUCIFIED THERE WAS A GARDEN, AND IN THE GARDEN A NEW TOMB IN WHICH NO ONE HAD YET BEEN LAID. SO THERE THEY LAID JESUS……” JOHN 19:41-42

So the place where Jesus was crucified was called “Place of a skull”. And near that place is a tomb – literally a hole in a rock. I visited this place called the Garden tomb that apparently had all these characteristics.
The Garden Tomb is located North West of the Old City of Jerusalem, near the Damascus Gate. The rock formation indeed had the look of a skull, even after 2,000 years of corrosion. The interesting thing is that within a hundred metres from this rock is a tomb – literally a hole in a rock.
While no one knows exactly where Jesus was crucified and laid after His death, this place in Jerusalem certainly bore the characteristics described in the bible. Do check out this 1-minute video. Hope you like it and share.
