Money Management 101

Financial prudence requires discipline. It starts with tracking your money – how you are spending it, where are the leakages, etc.

It begins with taking stock of how you are spending your money every month. Use a expense tracker. Recently, I started using an app called Money Manager by www.realbyteapps.com and found it to be extremely helpful. (Don’t worry – they did not pay me to say this.) It provided me with statistics in the form of the following pie-chart. You can drill down on the line items by clicking on the various categories of expenses.

You can even track how much you have spent on the respective merchants/suppliers you patronised.

The app also allowed me to devise a Budget and it helps me track my expenses so I know if I have exceeded or are coming close to exceeding my Budget on a particular area. Hope this helps you.
