Singapore is a tiny island of about 720sq km. It has no natural resources. The highest point on the island is a small hill 163m in height. Where does it get its water for its 5.8m people?
Alot of its water is imported from Malaysia. But Singapore has been diversifying its water supply for many years now. The latest source is this 4th desalination plant that treats fresh & sea water for 200,000 households. Producing 30 million gallons of fresh drinking water a day, this desalination plant supplies 7% of Singapore’s daily water requirement.
