Singapore is now battling the 3rd wave of imported Covid-19 cases. With an open economy, a small domestic population and limited land area, there is no way it can keep its borders absolutely shut. Early this year, it had managed to keep Covid-19 in check, till overseas returnees and other visitors resulted in a resurgence of cases. Hopefully, this third wave of imported cases will be kept in check.

Around asia, we see Australia, South Korea and Hong Kong facing threats from second and third wave infections as well. It just shows that the fight against Covid-19 is far from over till an effective vaccine is readily available. When that happens, there may well be another new disease threatening mankind. Looks like the safe practices we are familiar with now are here to stay…
