COVID-19 situation – 1 Aug 2020

It’s 2 Aug 2020. There’s no end in sight for the COVID-19 pandemic. A record 300,000 new cases were recorded yesterday. Countries around the world are still uncoordinated in their actions towards this disease even as many countries experience 2nd and 3rd wave attacks.

Okinawa just declared a state of emergency. Hong Kong shifted into high gear in the implementation of measures in the face of a rise in new cases. Vietnam recorded 40 new cases in a single day. Australia’s state of Victoria is back in lockdown.

These are all examples of the devastating effect of this virus on lives and livelihood. What would the future be like when I look back at this situation next time?
